Kriya yoga is a scientific method of Self Realization. Kriya means 'action with awareness' and Yoga means 'union with God'. Kriya yoga was given to the mankind in this kali yuga by the great siddha Mahavatar Kriya Babaji Nagaraj. He initiated Lahiri Mahasaya and through him he spread the gospel of kriya yoga to the entire world for the benefit of all human beings irrespective of cast, creed, religion and nationality. Kriya yoga is nothing but the karma yoga which was told by Lord Krishna in his Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 4) to Arjuna. Lord Shiva initiated Parvati in kriya/karma yoga at Mt. Kailash. Vivasvat, gave it to Manu, the great legislator of this world who in turn initiated to Ikshwaku, the father of India's solar warrior dynasty. This great technique was lost over a period of time in the dark ages, until it is rediscovered and taught by the great yogi & siddha of all times Mahavatar Kriya Babaji Nagaraj.
Kriya Yoga is a five fold path comprising of
1. Kriya Hatha Yoga
2. Kriya Kundalini Pranayama
3. Kriya Dhyana Yoga
4. Kriya Mantra Yoga
5. Kriya Bhakti Yoga
Kriya yoga has about 144 techniques which when practised regularly and sincerely will lead to the self realization of the sadhak. Kriya yoga is not a technique to be learnt merely from a book or through online references. Of course reading about kriya yoga through books and other websites will certainly give an insight about this great technique and also as an inspiration to a person. One must be properly initiated into this divine yoga from a guru.
